PostTea garnered it’s first major endorsements today with success at Startup Richmond’s ‘Dragon’s Den Style’ Pitch Up Competition. Held in conjunction with the Royal Mail, Paypal, CPG Executive Consulting Ltd and Richmond Business School the event was designed to help companies grow and gain valuable business support. Hosted at the (exquisite) Paypal offices at Whittaker Avenue in Richmond, the event was also supported by Zac Goldsmith MP, who gave a short talk on the necessity and future of startups and small business in England today.

With over eighty entries, from pre-startups (like PostTea) to SMEs and large companies, 11 finalists were selected through pitch applications to pitch live, not only in front of a panel of four judges, but a crowd of up and coming business leaders, and expert panelists, including Joanne Tall from Off To See My Lawyer, Jo Sealy from To-Market, and Kirsty Demeza from THP Total Accounting.

All the pitchers involved in the competition performed extremely well, and I’m sure the judging panel had the hardest time picking an eventual winner. To say that I was staggered to win is an understatement, and cannot wait to start working with such an exceptional group of business leaders! I don’t think I said anything coherent after my win – I’m pretty anxious about seeing how the video interview turned out!! It still hasn’t sunk in, and I feel exceptionally honoured that both PostTea and I have been recognised and acknowledged in this way!
